  Analysis of main sources of noise from cooling towers in Anhui

  The noise of the cooling tower in normal operation mainly includes splashing water,fan rotating sound,motor motor sound,circulating water pump motor sound,water pipeline vibration sound,etc.Among them,the sound of water splashing from the cooling tower,the sound of fans,and the sound of motors,water pumps and motors are the main noise sources.

  1.Fan noise of cooling tower

  Fan noise is aerodynamic noise,including rotating noise and turbulence noise.Rotating noise is the gas pressure pulsation noise caused by periodically hitting the air when the fan blades rotate;turbulence noise is mainly the noise generated by the air attached to the blades continuously slipping into vortices when the fan blades rotate.The fan noise of the cooling tower is mainly turbulence noise.

  2,cooling tower splashing noise

  Water splash noise is produced by two different noise mechanisms:one is the sharp impulse noise emitted by the water droplet hitting the water surface;the other is the noise radiated by the volume pulsation of the bubble generated by the water droplet.Due to the strong sound insulation of the cooling tower,the splashing noise radiated from the tower body is negligible,and only the splashing noise radiated from the air inlet needs to be considered.Due to the high drop height of the cooling tower,the splashing speed and kinetic energy of the water droplets are high,which results in high splashing noise.

  3,the motor water pump motor noise of the cooling tower

  Both fans and pumps need to be equipped with motors.Motor noise mainly includes rotating noise caused by poor dynamic balance of the rotor,electromagnetic noise caused by the cutting magnetic field of the rotor,aerodynamic noise of the cooling fan,and mechanical noise caused by bearing friction.

  Cooling tower noise control plan and implementation

  According to the above three different cooling tower noises,our Anhui Dingsheng Industrial Refrigeration Equipment Co.,Ltd.proposed the following solutions,hoping to help users and consumers.

  1.Noise barrier.Noise barriers are actually set up around the cooling tower to block the way of noise transmission.The inner screen of the barrier is equipped with a noise absorption point,and the transmitted sound is reflected multiple times to reduce the decibel of the sound.

  2.Sound insulation cotton felt.Sound insulation cotton felt is mainly used on the circulating water pump of the cooling tower.This kind of material has better heat dissipation.It will not be damaged by the heat of the water pump for long-term use,and it will also reduce the noise transmission of the water pump vibration.

  3.Basic noise reduction.This method is to isolate the vibration of the sound and solve the source of the noise from the root cause.

  The noise of cooling towers/cooling water towers/cooling water towers brings a lot of inconvenience to residents'lives.As long as reasonable control is carried out,the noise problem can be solved.
